Welcome to our home. The D12 (DirtyDozen) squadron is a team of flyers from the online flight simulator 'Fighter Ace'.
Fighter Ace is a real-time 3D, massively multi-player aerial combat game. D12 is normally found in the level 5 Territorial Combat (TC) arenas, although we do fly in any and all arenas that we enjoy.
Our squadron, D12, was started at the outset of Fighter Ace 3.5 by our leader D12_BigWorm_CO. We are still a fairly new squad but we are becoming a close knit group of fighters. It has started well however and we are growing fast. If you are interested in joining D12 please visit our join page.
Our moto "ANIMO ET FIDE" is taken from the latin
meaning "with courage and faith", courage in battle, faith in each other.
Hopefully we are building a good camaraderie within the squad
as we get to know one another. We are privileged to have
some fine people with us (score is not a guide to personality).

As both D12 and Fighter Ace are developing we have decided to split ourselves into two dedicated groups. Each Air Group is under the direct command of the CO (D12_BigWorm) and the XO (D12_Biggles) of the squad. The two Air Groups will have their own rank structure, each with its own Group Captains, Wing Commanders, Flight Lieutenants and its Flying Officers.
D12 are forming a bomber group to hit back at the enemy, whoever they are and wherever we find them.

This new 'Bomber Group' will eventually have its own Group Captain and the leader will need to edit
his flight nick (tag) to D12_John_Doe_BGC, john_doe being your name!. If you want to be part of this group welcome aboard,
if not, stear clear!
As well as the bomber group that we are forming we still welcome new members to our squad in whatever role they are suited.
If you prefer to be classed as a 'Fighter Pilot', 'Bomber Pilot' or a 'Fighter/Bomber Pilot' we will have a space for you. Normally we will fly
which ever role is needed in the TC arena. As we get the Groups organised we will start to plan TC missions and win the arenas.
We hope to be arranging a meet once a month but for the time being we have not got the numbers we want.
D12 always fly together and always fight to the death to defend our squad mates, our team mates and our territory.
We fly hard and furious balls to the walls but we always have FUN and respect the COC.

When a pilot is recruited to D12 the starting rank within the squad will be limited at entry to a non-commsioned rank of Sergeant (SGT) for the first month of membership. Once the pilot has been with the squad for a month and decided which Air Group they would like to be assigned to they will be added to the appropriate page on the squadron roster. They will then be promoted to the rank of Flight Sergeant (FS). As numbers increase, pilots will be assigned to individual 'Flights', each consisting of three pilots and a Flight Commander. When a pilot has been with the squad for a further six months (seven months from joining) they may be elligable to be promoted to Flying Officer (FO), a commisioned rank. When Flight Commanders are needed it will be these pilots who are considered.
When promoted to a Flight Commander your rank will be Flight Lieutenant (FLt). Once an Airgroup has a full flight a second will start, as soon as this happens D12 will look to appoint a Wing Commander (WC). A wing will consist of three flights. In overall command of each group will be a Group Captain, Bomber Group Captain (BGC) or Fighter Group Captain (FGC).
It must be pointed out that although pilots are divided into fighters or bombers it is NOT expected that they fly those aircraft exclusivly. It IS expected that they will be familier with all fighter/bomber aircraft and be able to make effective and presise attacks using them.
